A little bit 'bachy' and a whole lot special, The Ruru's Roost is a cluster of cabins (bedroom, kitchenette/living, and shower/loo) off your own private deck. Sleeping arrangements are for up to 4 in the bunkroom (double bed and bunks, bottom bunk bed 3/4 length), and a pull-out couch that can sleep another two at a push. The views from The Ruru's Roost give both our visitors and the ruru something to crow about.  Set in the hilltop grounds of a private home within the peaceful Te Manawa Ecovillage (at 820 Motueka River West Bank Rd), the Roost gives you a taste of the good life. Powered by a shared off-grid power system, you will be surrounded by regenerating native forest (the gullies are protected by QEII Covenants) and able to enjoy some of the best 'under the stars' outdoor bathing this side of the black stump! The sunrises are stupendous, and the starscape is mighty. The ruru often lull us to sleep.  If you are interested in a wee break away... give us a call and we can discuss your needs and the rates.
